Hello and welcome to Volume 2 of our Worthy Cause Chronicles!
This edition is packed with new faces and exciting updates, and we’re thrilled to have you with us. Here’s a sneak peek at what’s coming up...
Over 459 hours of Employment Training!
In September alone, we proudly provided 459 hours of employment training for our program participants. This training is essential for equipping them with the skills and confidence they need to thrive in the workforce. As our cafés continue to grow, we’re excited to create even more opportunities that can truly change lives.
We’re truly grateful for your support and for visiting our cafés. It brings us joy to create positive experiences for our participants while serving you delicious food and great service.
Thank you for being part of our journey!
New Participants
We’ve had the pleasure of onboarding 3 new participants; Lochy, Nikki & Nalani! They’ve come over from the Preston and Heidelberg sites and are killing it!
All our participants face their own unique set of challenges, but we’re so excited to see the impact we can create together through the tailored services and support our program provides.
New Director of Finance
We’re incredibly excited to introduce our new Director of Finance Lei Lei Yap! Her role supports our mission to strengthen our employment program, allowing us to reach more individuals and expand our impact, as well as enhancing our sustainability as we continue to grow.
We’re very appreciative to have her financial and management skills as part of our executive team!
Impactful Employment Programs
At Worthy Cause, we think it’s important to showcase success from our program and celebrate the growth of our participants, one such individual is Tiffany.
Tiffany faced prolonged unemployment and mental health challenges, worsened by strained relationships and difficulties as a member of the LGBTQIA+ community.
“[When I first came in, I was feeling] completely and utterly nervous, not sure whether I’d be able to pick it up and actually pull it off. Just scared that I’d, yeah, practically fail.”
Through the program’s skills training and mental health support, Tiffany gradually rebuilt her confidence. With consistent guidance, she secured full-time employment and achieved a newfound sense of happiness and stability.
“[With this program] I actually feel good about myself, that I’ve actually come a long way mentally, physically, responsibility-wise. [I feel] a lot better compared to the start of last year.”
Tiffany’s story showcases the transformative power of Worthy Cause, helping individuals regain self-worth and thrive against the odds.
