Thank You for a Great Year!
We want to say thank you on behalf of the whole Worthy Cause charity. Whether you're a customer, volunteer, supplier or a friend who's participated in one of our markets - we truly thank you from the bottom of our hearts because it's through your contributions that we can do the good work we do at Worthy Cause.
Want to see what we've accomplished together? Here's a quick recap of the year!
January
Right at the beginning of the year we were getting ready to open our Preston cafe! - then were hit with a 6 month delay.
This created quite the large domino effect with changes that needed to happen fast.
Working things out with Melbourne Polytechnic, we packed up and were able to run over at the Prahran Campus for the first 3 months of the year
April
Our cafe grand opening! Over at Heidelberg, the first Worthy Cause cafe had it's grand opening. This was a seriously huge shift for us - now being able to expand both our range of products and most importantly expand the types of training experiences that our participants are able to gain in our program.
April wasn't done yet though: we also had head chef Bruce Greenway come on board and a huge concert event with The Slingers, KP Hydes and Al Matcott which raised over $1000 for charity. Amazing wins over the month!
June & July
These mid year months were absolutely non-stop! We went from back to back Finders Keepers Market stalls straight into 3 days at the little food market.
And the week after that we opened our second cafe! The Preston cafe we had originally planned for January was finally open, adding a whole new second location and effectively doubled our capacity for participants.
Three markets and a cafe opening all in two months - phew! A crazy accomplishment and a lot of hours in the kitchen

December
Reflecting back on the year while we start to plan our annual Bake-a-thon - it's been such a rollercoaster from the highs of opening a cafe and increasing our impact two fold to the unique challenges that came with it from timeline delays to small issues turning into complex problems.
At the end of the day it's about helping each other through these challenges and it's been incredibly heartwarming to watch our participants come out of their shells and build a sense of self-confidence.
Thank You!
A big thank you from the team and a personal thank you from Rick our founder for being apart of the Worthy Cause story and for all that you've allowed us to achieve!
Next year we'll be continuing to improve upon our cafes with our new directors, volunteers and participants - we're so excited to see what we achieve next year so happy new year and stay tuned!
