For the most wonderful time of year - we've concocted the most wonderful treat!
With a warming blend of cinnamon and ginger spices with a soft, chewy center this cookie pairs perfectly with a hot mug of tea by the fireplace.
Spread the joy these holidays by sharing these cookies with your loved ones and know you'll also be sharing meaningful employment opportunities with individuals in need.
This time of year is also a great opportunity to bond as a team and set the tone for the next year.
We have amazing opportunities to get into the kitchen as a team and bake some of our best flavours lead by Rick. The program includes free lunch, coffees and of course a whole lot of cookies!
We have extra details on our annual Worthy Cause: Bake-a-Thon! The Bake-a-Thon is a fundraising event where teams are invited into a commercial kitchen to bake as many cookies as possible during our weekend-long bake sale where we'll be setting up a store-front selling cookies, holding giveaways and featuring local businesses who've joined the cause!
We'll be holding fundraising challenges leading up to the weekend and there'll be plenty of individualised support from the Worthy Cause Team the whole way through to make sure this is a fun experience that'll truly be able to make a huge difference in the lives of vulnerable individuals.
We'll be holding the event in February next year so mark your calendars and make sure to fill out the form below to express your interest and lets bake a difference together!
Key Updates
Over the last month we've provided 414 hours of employment training!
Our training program is centered around providing our participants with the skills to thrive in the workforce. Which is why we're thrilled when participants leave the program - to transition into employment!
This month we're sending a huge congratulations as one of our participants has moved onto employment and we've welcomed another with 2 new participants into our program.
A lasting impact is our ultimate goal and that's why we're so thankful to everyone who's visited our cafe or supported us. We love handing over a coffee and a cookie but you're the ones giving back much more
Some exciting flavour upgrades are coming your way at our Preston site!
We're thrilled to introduce our new head chef: Heather Fely
With a background in fine dining from restaurants in London to Melbourne - Heather is bringing in an extraordinary technical hand into our kitchens. She'll be helping the participants really refine their knife skills and learn the expectations of working under a chef in the workforce.
We are absolutely delighted to have her on our team so if you're around Preston make sure to pop in to say hi!
We recently concluded our Golden Ticket event! If you've stopped by our cafes in the past few weeks you might have gotten a lucky Golden Ticket in your bag or cup. In Wonka-seque fashion these tickets meant you were in store for a sweet treat in the form of a $5, $7 or $12 voucher towards your coffee or meal.
We'd love to thank Melbourne Poly-Technic for funding this fun event and helping us to continue to integrate and become part of the school community. Make sure to keep an eye on our upcoming events and socials cause we have more promotions in the works!
